Just had to drop you a line to thank you for a great product. My good friend
Ron Vogel met you at the Hoof Care Conference in Ohio last month, and
brought back some Equicast. I have a horse in my barn, a very special retired standardbred, who
blew the worse abscess I have ever seen. The coffin bone was involved, and he
spent a week at the vet clinic where the hole was opened up even more.
Now, three months later , we are struggling with giving him some
support as his hoof wall grows out. Equicast is doing just that. I used the two inch size and applied it as
directed. It was extremely easy to work with and set up exactly as
described. Right now he is just in the equicast, but I am thinking that as we move
forward, we may actually put a shoe on, although the cast is holding up
well.
Here is a picture of what we started with, and one of the equicast.
These aren't the best pictures, but you can probably see what we are
dealing with. I left the hole at the top and the toe open so that we can
still flush and medicate as directed.
A suggestion, you may want to consider marketing this to trail riders in a
little kit. A roll of Equicast, and a kitchen sponge. Most everyone I know trail
rides with a bottle of water,or can find a stream. What a way to save fix a lost
shoe. I know I will be carrying one.
Thanks again...and if you have any suggestions for this particular
situation, or if you want to see more pictures let me know.
